Default I Dream of Jeannie vs. The Bob Newhart Show

I Dream of Jeannie. I just saw The Bob Newhart Show once many years ago, that was before I became a fan of the 80s Newhart. Too bad I don't get Sundance.

I voted Bob too. Not that Bill wasn't good on IJOJ , just I like the Bob Newhart show much better than Jeannie!!

I Dream Of Jeannie did not have that great of a supporting ensemble, like Bob Newhart or Bewitched, but Bill Daily was wonderful in it. So even though Newhart was the superior show, IDOJ was Daily's best acting.

I Dream of Jeannie was more of a gimmick show and The Bob Newhart Shot was a great ensemble comedy with a stable cast for the show's entire run.

I Dream of Jeannie didn't have any major cast turnover either (unlike its companion Bewitched ). The core cast of 4 with Barbara Eden, Larry Hagman, Hayden Rorke, and Bill Daily was there for the whole run.

I liked him better in I Dream of Jeannie. He had a bigger part and was funnier in it. I liked both shows though.

He was great in both shows, but the better character development and writing goes to The Bob Newhart Show.

Bill Daily wasn't the main star in either show, but for me the vote is easy, I voted for Jeannie. I've never liked Newhart, to me he's annoying and unfunny. Jeannie aired for five seasons, not the best sitcom of all time but it's fun, certainly more fun than Newhart which is dull and bland compared to Jeannie. And Jeannie has the lovely and sexy Barbara Eden, I need say no more.

I thought Daily was great when he appeared on the Bob Newhart Show hence my preference.

Both shows had good writing but I found Jeannie on the whole to be funnier.
