"Last Man Standing" Pages "Dr. Ken" Alum for Foreign Exchange Student Role

Eve’s soon-to-be vacant bedroom has already found a new occupant.

"Last Man Standing" has cast former "Dr. Ken" star Krista Marie Yu in the recurring role of Jen, a foreign exchange student, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Jen will first be introduced in Episode 4 of the ABC-turned-Fox sitcom. Vanessa takes the young scholar under her wing and convinces Mike to let her stay with them while she completes her schooling in the States.

“Vanessa feels particularly tied to Jen because she’s interested in geology,” exec producer Kevin Abbott tells TVLine. “Vanessa’s always wanted to encourage [young women] to go into the sciences.”

Krista Yu Promoted to Regular on Fox Series "Last Man Standing"

We’ll be seeing more of Jen on "Last Man Standing". Krista Yu, who has appeared in two episodes as the character, has been promoted to series regular on the Fox series.

Yu’s Jen is a foreign exchange student from Hong Kong that Mike (Tim Allen) and Vanessa Baxter (Nancy Travis) are hosting in their Colorado home. She appeared earlier this season in a guest spot, when she and her father visited to see if the Baxters would be a good fit, and returned in this past Friday’s episode to move in with the family.

Jen has a lot of zingers, one liners. I'd like to see her more at Outdoor Man. That episode was funny.
