ABC is in Talks for "Modern Family" Season 11 – TCA 2018
ABC is in Talks for Season 11 of Comedy Series "Modern Family" – TCA
by Nellie Andreeva August 7, 2018 Nine seasons in, "Modern Family" remains a tentpole and a great launch pad for ABC. Additionally, besides the short-lived "Roseanne" revival, it’s been the network’s highest-rated half-hour series for years. So, it’s not a surprise that, despite comments by co-creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd that they were looking to wrap the series with its upcoming 10th season, the network is eyeing an 11th. “We have had some conversations with 20th (the studio that produces Modern Family). There are conversations ongoing,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey told Deadline at TCA on Tuesday. “I think that there is a sense that we all would like to do one more season if we can find a way for a deal that makes sense. This current season is the last season that we have the cast, so if we are to do another season there are more deals to be made, and we are trying to work through all that.” https://deadline.com/2018/08/modern-...ca-1202442138/ |

Optimism Grows for "Modern Family" Season 11
by Nellie Andreeva Sept. 19, 2018 In one week, "Modern Family" will premiere its 10th season on ABC. Behind the scenes, groundwork continues to be laid out for an eleventh season of the Emmy-winning family comedy, and all sides appear optimistic that it could become a reality. I hear conversations are still ongoing between ABC and "Modern Family" producer 20th Century Fox TV for a shorter 11th season, with a final season order in the neighborhood of 18 episodes discussed. "Modern Family" creators/showrunners Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd have said publicly that they are open to one more season. I hear the cast is yet to be approached but all are said to be willing to return for a final chapter if new deals can be made. https://deadline.com/2018/09/modern-...st-1202467172/ |

I thought an even 10 seasons would be enough for Modern Family. The fact that 20th Century Fox TV and ABC Network are soon going to be under the same corporate umbrella is literally the only reason MF is going to continue past Season 10. Plus, it probably wouldn’t have made much sense for both The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family to end their original runs after the same season (2018-19), either.
