FX Scraps Plan for "Feud" Charles and Diana Sequel (for now)
FX Scraps Plan for "Feud" Charles and Diana Sequel (for now)
by James Hibberd August 3, 2018 FX is scrapping its plan for a Prince Charles and Lady Diana edition of its "Feud" limited series — at least for now. While the "Feud" brand is still technically considered in development, writers were unable to crack a version of the story for the planned sequel to 2017’s "Feud: Bette and Joan". “It’s not moving forward at the moment,” FX chief John Landgraf told EW at the Television Critics. Is that because of Netflix’s "The Crown" is tackling the same story in coming seasons? “It’s not because of The Crown,” Landgraf said. “I think there was a very different approach. I happen to really like The Crown. But it’s told from the point of view of the royal family. This is told from the point of view of somebody coming into that family a’ la Meghan Markle. Ultimately we couldn’t get the material to the place we wanted.” We also asked Landgraf if "Feud" was still even a series or basically canceled at this point. “I’d say if you asked Ryan Murphy he would still say its an active series and he’s still intending to do further cycles,” Landgraf said. “But he hasn’t told me ‘this is the cycle I’m doing and this is when I’m doing it.'” http://ew.com/tv/2018/08/03/fx-feud-...-diana-sequel/ |

Is "Feud" completely dormant? I know you had kicked around the Prince Charles and Diana. Is that still in development?
I’m not working on any of that right now. My deal is with Netflix. That’s not to say that years down the line that I couldn’t’ redo it or renew if I had a great idea. I think everyone is open to that, but I’m working on so many other things. https://deadline.com/2019/11/america...es-1202785704/ |

You'd think with all the Hollywood feuds there have been over the years, that they would be able to come up with one idea to continue the series.

^I agree. Orson Welles and William Randolph Hearst would be a good one to do!
