A Really Funny Well Written Episode Is.. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've been watching Green Acres again from the beginning once a week, today I'm up to season 2-9 "The Hooterville Image". This episode really impressed me (for the first time) I found it to be genuinely funny, not repeating the standard running jokes as much and a very funny situation Oliver finds himself in and very funny the way the folks of Hooterville deal with it. It was a fun episode to watch, I could have watched an hour long episode of this story, a 4 star example of Green Acres.

Yeah I agree this was a solid episode. One of the best from the early years and a good example of their self-aware humor and the show poking fun at itself.

I love how Oliver plays it straight when he's putting on his best suit and says "I'm going out to pull up a tree stump."

Another very well-written episode is "Lisa's Jam Session". It's probably my 2nd favorite episode of the series. My 1st being the Christmas episode.

Oh, yeah that's the one where the people in Hooterville were commenting on how Oliver dressed (He's got his plowing vest on!)
