Default Class of 1940?

The "Man of the Year" episode raised a couple questions....First off, Archie never finished high school. The AITF episode where he went to night school for his GED dealt with that issue, so he wasn't a class of anything for one.

And secondly, had he graduated HS, he'd be in the class of '42 rather than '40 according to his age.
In the episode that aired in 1974 titled "Archie Feels Left Out" he was celebrating his 50th birthday making him born in 1924 (coincidentally, the same year as O'Connor) and only 16 in 1940.

And if he dropped out of HS, it's highly doubtful so many classmates would remember him nearly 40 years later to celebrate his "Man of the Year".

Just shows the terrible writing of ABP and seems they didn't care about being consistent to the AITF universe.

Also, while i'm rambling about peeves....I like Anne Meara but in this she's an unlikable, mean spirited, drunk with a nasty attitude. And smoking in the kitchen while cooking the meals? GROSS!!

Weird episode. Some hottie former cheerleader shows up outta nowhere interested in Arch, never thinking he might be married after 40 years. And Edith's absence is awkwardly explained that she would be along later? What could Edith (and Stephanie) be doing that was so important they wouldn't be there to see Archie get his award?

In 1982s Billie Moves Out, Arch confirms his age as 58. In Break A Leg, Stephanie he says he never finished Romeo and Juliet because "the war broke out and all mental activity ceased for 4 years"

In this episode Arch says he attended Bryant High. But during AITF years wasn't his alma mater always referred to as Flushing High??

Just inconsistencies between shows. About the smoking, back then it was a different time, EVERYONE smoked lol and all the time. I remember my dad smoking at the table while we were eating
