Premiere episode
I saw the premiere episode last night. It began with a scene in which Gomer got his hair shaved. This moment was highlighted in a TV Guide photo feature entitled "A Star is Shorn." It showed photos of Jim Nabors getting his hair shaved for the scene, and it could only be done in one take, of course. The last photo shows Jim looking not so happy about the haircut, and it was said that this was Jim's off-screen reaction. However, the reaction is right there in the scene.
I was disappointed in the fact that this premiere episode acts as though the original pilot on THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW never existed. Gomer and Sgt. Carter met for the first time in that pilot, but in the premiere of the series, they meet for the first time again. |
