Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio will host NBC's late-night travel series when it returns in September.

I never watched The Challenge thus, I didn't know who Johnny Bananas was until I saw in a "preview" episode of his hosting gig on 1st Look. Frankly, if we (insomniacs) have to deal with him on a week by week basis, then it's not worth it. He's to be brutally honest like the atypical obnoxious, douchey, "dude-bro" personality, who thinks that he's funnier than he actually is. For those who've never seen 1st Look, it's kind of a "hip" travelogue kind of in the vein of Anthony Bourdian's stuff, but lower-tier. Ashley Roberts, who was in the Pussycat Dolls was the host most recently. But up until they brought in Johnny Bananas, I don't recall it being super personality driven or the host making it too much about themselves.
