Default Heatwave Here!

Definitely a heatwave here in Southern California.

I observed 112 degrees F here yesterday (July 6). The highest temp I've recorded is 114.5 degrees. My records date back to 1980.

Looks like it will be just as hot today... as of 12:45 PM, it is 110.8 degrees.

This image is from the Los Angeles Times newspaper... a great weather section. Very detailed. Note all the temps showing 100 degrees or higher!

NH just had a heatwave, but it's only coming back for like 2 days and that's it.

Yes, I did hear about the northeast heatwave I think about one week ago. 90s and low-100s, I believe.

At least it won’t be most of the week this time around.

Well, I've been through heatwaves before.

And this house does have A/C.

Our heatwave started on Thursday and it has been so hot Mom had to get our box fan out yesterday and so far the only cool spot in my house is my room and i'm spending a lot of time and having to sleep with a cool blanket at night

Yes!! It's been very hot out here!! Terrible. We only have a window air conditioner in the bedroom, and fans for the rest of the house. Including a ceiling fan in the livingroom. Usually that is just fine, now even that isn't cooling things off that much, unless we are in the bedroom, it's awful lately!

We have a heatwave of 82 degrees for several days. I'm not sure it's a good thing to be higher due to the risk of forest fires, water shortages etc.

Our heatwave was during the 4th of July. It's dropped back to the mid 80's over the last couple of days.

Fortunately, the last two days in NYC have been pretty decent. 100+ temps? UGH! You have my sympathy Fleet.

Where I am it is rare to get over 100 degrees! Where Fleet lives is North of me and over 100 is common in the summer but NOT usually as hot as 112 !!!

One heat wave I TOTALLY remember was in October of 1987!! Over 100 degrees for a number of days!! Than there was a major earthquake !!! OMG I had just been in California for a short time and it was the first earthquake I ever experienced!! Plus I was 7 months pregnant!!! I was SO scared !!! Between the earthquake, and my first pregnancy and it was SO DAMN HOT, and besides my Husband at the time I had NO family out here at all!

And it can still get hot in October out here but that was REALLY HOT!!! Other than that it usually doesn't get over 100 much where I'm at Thank God!!!
