Duke The Dog (whose real name is Sam) of the Bush's Baked Bean commercials has died David Odom announced on Facebook that Sam had to be put down by his owner susan due to an aggressive cancer.

Sam was one of many dogs that portrayed Duke in the commercials

Wasn't Duke featured in the commercial of Bush's Beans where the owner would say Roll That Beautiful Bean Footage? My mom and I love Bush's beans and we use them to make refried beans for our burritos. What a surprise that Sam the dog who played Duke is gone because he was an iconic mascot for Bush's Beans and I wonder if they will have a new dog to play Duke now

Yes. And according to a statement made by Bush’s themselves, they are still going to be using him in their commercials.
