In 1986 NBC debuted Kissyfur a cartoon created by Phil Mendez and aired as part of NBC's Saturday Morning lineup. The series followed Kissyfur and his son as they abandon a circus and end up living in a swamp on the bayou with all sorts of new friends. Kissyfur is one of the most underrated cartoons of the 80's and even had a McDonald's Happy Meal promotion in 1987
