Default Decades doing credit crunches now

I was watching Newhart earlier, and noticed that there was a credit crunch. Why are they doing this now?

This doesn't bode well for MeTV. But it's not surprising.

What do you mean by "This does not bode well for MeTV"?

They're both owned by Weigel Broadcasting, but Decades is co-owned by Weigel and CBS Corp.

Movies! Is owned by Weigel and Fox. Does Movies! Credit crunch? I think I heard a while back that they do.

I hope MeTV doesn’t jump on the bandwagon...

I don't think MeTV will ever jump on the credit crunching bandwagon, as you say. It just seems too unlikely. Antenna TV did it because of the cost of acquiring new shows.

Decades has done a crunch during weekday programming but the music is not muted and played at full volume. It’s just crunched to tell us what’s up next. Is this a new crunch that mutes the music? I sure hope not.

I've only ever seen the "coming up next" crunch. At least they keep the music.

That's pretty harmless. Starz Black used to do that, and they probably stiil do.

That’s what I was thinking. I can live with that crunch. Just as long as the music is not muted or missing, I’m good.

Actually networks like Antenna should do that--it would still look modern and hip or whatever they're after, tell the viewer what's coming up next, let the viewer hear the theme, and they could get rid of one of those worthless ads they have on there. Probably a lot of those low class hawkers don't pay their bills anyway.

I think they've done this for a while now...at least a year or two. ThisTV does this as well.

It seem that Decades channel is now following the lead of Antenna TV & This TV as far as credit crunches go.
