Default Parents Tv Council

I think that is what they are called. These are the people who try to get sex and violence and whatever they think is wrong with tv off the air. Do you think they should be doing that. I don't if you don't want your kids to watch shows like that change the channel. And incase you didn't realize it there is this thing called a v-chip that most new tvs are installed with. Use that instead of telling the rest of the country what they should be watching.

I don't think it is necessary whatsoever to try to get shows that has that sort of thing off the air at all. What people choose to do with their own actions is their choice and whether they watch shows with violence or sex in them it should not make a difference with how people act or how they choose to live their lives.

I sooooooooo agree Shyguy418!!!! I hate censors cuz they mess up shows! If you don't like a show, instead of complaining about how bad it is, and trying to get it off air, then DON'T WATCH IT!! It's really quite simple.

Angry

Throughout the years, people who object to sex and violence on television have always had one simple option available to them - the 'off' switch.
If these stuck-up people don't wanna see certain shows then they should simply not watch them. It makes me mad when people try to tell other people how to live - whether it be what religion to practise, what music to listen to or what to watch on TV. What gives these people the right to make these decisions for us.
Personally, I feel that, after 10pm, we should be able to see whatever the hell we like on TV. I dunno if that's the case in America but that's pretty much how it is over here - and that's the way I like it!

I agree with you, Mossopp. But that's the exact opposite opinon you expressed in the marijuana post. In that post you said that if people were acting in a way that didn't suit your idea of commendable behavior they should be arrested for it - hands down!

Yeah, but I'm not hurting or upsetting anyone by watching violent TV shows. If I had a quid for every time some stoned idiot has deliberately tryed to cross me or dragged me into some kind of trouble I'd be a very rich wee Mossopp by now!

There is also another type of group maybe there related to the parents tv council I'm really not sure. But anyways there called onemillionmoms.com. There the same type of group that trys to tell us what to watch. I tryed to find there email address to email mail them and tell them what I thought about there little website. But I couldn't find one I guess they don't like to be critisized but they sure are good are critisizing others. If anyone is able to find the email address please post it.

I don't walk in your shoes so there isn't much I can say to that, but I am bewildered because I've not had that problem with people. The only similar situation that I can think of is when I'm approached by panhandling drunks, or if I have the misfortune of being around a drunk who is acting maudlin.

Default The only one that should tell you what to watch, is yourself

It isn't that hard. If you get offended by sex, turn the channel. If you get offended by people cursing, turn the channel. If you hate blood and gore, turn the channel. I never understood all these censor things. Yeah, I suppose you don't want a 5 year old watching a porno flick or something on tv- but the parents should be around to turn the channel.

It should really be up to you to decide what you want to watch. My tastes vary from what other people like to watch. It just won't work out if you have someone higher up dictating down to everybody, "You watch this, and I don't want to hear any arguments about it. You can't watch that." It's crazy. It's the same thing with cds too. If you want to listen to something that has a parental guidance label on it, than so be it.
