Default The Michael Lembeck appreciation thread

Let's talk about this guy, shall I? Anyway, Michael Lembeck is best known for playing Max Horvath on the 1970s sitcom One Day At A Time which he became famous for. After One Day At A Time ended, he later became a television and movie director, directed films such as The Santa Clause 2 & 3, Tooth Fairy, along with shows including Mad About You, Friends, and Baby Daddy.

He is now devoted to directing TV and movies full time. No longer acts anymore, but has made a few acting appearances including appearing on shows he directed including Baby Daddy and Mad About You.

Wow!! Thank you Mikaela for the thread on the love of my life!! Very sweet of you!

Michael was a very good actor ! Besides playing Max his next most famous roles were Kaptain Kool and Clete Meisenheimer on Mary Hartman. And he was on many movies and guest starring TV roles from the late 60's to early 90's!

Although he was a good actor he didn't get the appreciation he deserved IMO! He was/ is a good looking very nice, talented man , a familiar face on TV but never that big of a name which he deserved to be.

I would love to see him still acting but it is nice that he is pursing his directing career, which he is also very good at!

Some quick facts about him:

. Michael Lembeck was born in Brooklyn, New York, USA to Harvey Lembeck and Caroline Lembeck, both in show business. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1966 and his classmates in a drama course included Rob Reiner, Albert Brooks and Richard Dreyfuss.

. After continuing his drama studies at Los Angeles City College and Cal State, he added singing and dancing lessons, and performed in summer stock productions. He toured with the original National company of the Broadway hit, "Grease", with John Travolta as his roommate.

Sorry if I omitted Kaptain Kool, but just wanted to keep it short and simple.
