Default Is IHOP changing its name and image?

When I was watching Let's Make A Deal I saw a commercial for IHOP that says that they are changing their image and their name to International House Of Breakfast later this month and I would to know why this is? Is it because IHOP is becoming more like Denny's or is it because IHOP wants to be more like Marie Callender's by having a family oriented image and adding more food to their menu? My mom and I used to eat at IHOP a lot because their food was great and I hope that this image is very successful for IHOP

I heard they were changing their name. We had a IHOP about 40 minute drive but the business has been gone for about 10 years. Hear the initials are IHOB and saw a commercial for showing hamburgers so thought the B was now Burgers. Breakfast is more all around food than the Pancakes. It wasn't a place I frequented. Do they have businesses overseas? International??

Well, its been almost a week since IHOP transitioning to IHOB because the B stand for Burgers during the Lunch & Dinner hours and it also stand Breakfast(including/featuring Pancakes) during Breakfast Hours; That’s just my basic opinion on that.

Allegedly the name change is only temporary. They've always had burgers but just want to draw attention to them.

I had only been to a IHOP only a handful of times in my 60 years and with the Pancake name in the title I assume they only sold breakfast food. I read a story about actress Cindy Williams who worked in IHOP and her shoes were always sticky for dropped maple syrup was on the floor.

I passed by an IHOP the other day and sure enough the P was turned into a B and it's officially called IHOB now!!

I was thinking maybe they thought they were losing business to Denny's , being they are always pushing the Grand slam breakfasts . Maybe breakfast orders from IHOP were getting low , so they figured why not make the focus more on lunch. And burgers probably being a restaurants lunch menu's most popular food! That is just my humble opinion!!

I've had breakfast at both places and I prefer Denny's to IHOP !

It's a marketing gimmick to attract people to their burgers/encourage them to come there not just for breakfast. So I think it's temporary.

I was surprised that they changed the name just because it's been IHOP for so long.
