Default Laff not doing credit crunches?

I was watching The Drew Carey Show along with Spin City earlier today, and noticed that there were no crunches at all.

Is Laff no longer doing credit crunches anymore?

Did those shows have crunches before? I think I remember Spin City having short credits with talking at the end (basically a tag scene), so it wouldn't be necessarily be crunched. Night Court's credits are longer and instrumental. I think Grace Under Fire also had short talking credits at the end too, so it wouldn't be crunched either. I don't know about Drew Carey, but it could be the same way.

From what I remember watching today, it was just regular credits.

I checked the last episode of Night Court shown tonight and it was not crunched. Although I flipped it over to sister station Escape and that shows credits were crunched while a new show started. I just hope Laff is abandoning the credit crunch.

Maybe (but I could be wrong about this one) that Laff abandoned credit crunches for shows altogether. Are they still doing it for movies though?

I don’t know. I know before they crunched credits, movie credits were sped up while television show credits played at normal speed.

I remember watching something (but forget when) and it had a credit crunch. Might have been a movie.

It definitely is not a permanent change. Night Court credits were still crunched in today's afternoon episodes.

I watched some of today's afternoon episodes. There were still crunches at the end at 3:30, 4:30, and 5:00. Probably at 4:00 too but I had switched to Benson on Antenna TV.

Was there a 3:00 crunch?

I hadn't turned the TV on yet, started watching around 3:10.

Having recorded The Drew Carey Show over the last few months (some episodes two and three times because of the crunches), it seems like they only do them for shows like Night Court where the end credits feature no content whatsoever outside of actual credits, or coming out of movies.

However, in the 2 AM slot, sometimes they would crunch the Roseanne credits and start Drew if Roseanne freeze framed after some end credit material and went to just a static shot with credits.

But if a show has episode content in the credits, they don't seem to crunch them.

Of course, Roseanne is gone now, so they may be adjusting to the new Night Court airings.

I’m just hoping Home Improvement won’t be crunched when it comes this fall.
