ABC Cancels Roseanne Revival - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Good riddance! I never thought it would happen with the big ratings Roseanne pulled though. I hope Speechless can get upgraded to Tuesdays at 8:00 now, would be nice watching it and The Kids Are Alright back-to-back.

I'm wondering why this thread isn't on the Roseanne board.

However, I'm glad that "Roseanne" was cancelled. The show was unrealistic, out of character, depressing and unfunny.

I put it here (General Sitcoms) because I was not going to put good riddance on the board for its fans. It might still get moved there by moderators though.

I saw an episode of this with my dad because he wanted to watch, and it just wasn't even that funny at all. He was the only person laughing in the room.

Home Improvement would make a great replacement when it comes in the fall.

Kill Roseanne and change the name to Roseanne's Family. Then eventually The Conner Family.

As for The Middle, from what I have heard ABC would have brought the show back but Patricia Heaton and the cast and crew were ready to move on. Sad though, one more season and it would have outlasted Everybody Loves Raymond.

I read a quote from one of the writers, or a producer, somewhere, that they had many more stories to tell. A renewal would be problematic, having had a finale already--but that didn't stop Roseanne.

I would imagine those new Roseannes will become super rare. I assume ABC will even ditch the reruns.

Yes as much as I would love the middle to return. They ended the show perfectly. I respect the cast and crew of the middle knowing when it was time to end.
