Default M3S Lines That Made You Literally LOL

Let's share those funny or unexpected lines from M3S that made us actually laugh out loud.

I mentioned in another thread that I have been watching the later seasons on YouTube recently after not seeing them for several years. Today I was watching "Barbara Lost", the season 12 episode where Micky Dolenz of the Monkees plays an old friend of Chip's from Bryant Park whose real name is Brian but has become a very famous rock star who goes by the name John Simpson. Both Katie and Dodie immediately recognize who he is when they are told his stage name but Uncle Charley hasn't a clue and says so, to which Dodie replies, " Man! You guys would probably walk right by the Rolling Stones or Creedence Clearwater…without falling down or anything!" That line wouldn't have been that funny coming out of Katie, but coming from Dodie, it literally made me LOL, that this little girl would have a clue about the Stones and CCR. Bravo for the writers for making her so "real".

I would love to hear some of your favorites. In twelve seasons there must be a bunch of them!

Cool Que Pasa?

Just today (I watch DVDs of My 3 Sons in order every Monday) I watched a season 12 episode, "Polly The Pigeon" where Polly can't say no to a salesman, I'd like to make a call there, anyway she agrees to have a dinner for 8 put on by a salesman of pots and pans (much like in the Dennis The Menace episode where salesman put on dinner in Dennis's house when Mr. Wilson was in charge). Polly goes to Barbara and says, "I'm having a pot party." Barbara is shocked and says "A POT PARTY???" Then hapless but sexy Polly explains. I had to laugh out loud at this exchange and the way Polly & Barbara both acted.

All this also leads me to hope again that ME TV will finally show season 12, some very funny episodes there.

I just watched that one yesterday, that was really funny.

I think those "generation gap" conversations on M3S were some of the funniest ones, especially when they involved Steve, just because he was so buttoned up and old fashioned most of the time. Another one that I saw just a few days ago that made me laugh was in a scene from the season 10 episode, "Rough on Dodie" where Steve is talking to Chip and Ernie about how he would like them to be extra kind and gentle with Dodie while he and Barbara go to Phoenix for the weekend because she is still adjusting to her new home full of men, boys, and a dog and it is a bit overwhelming for her. They both reassure him that they will do just that and Ernie seals the deal by saying, "Don't worry, you can go to Phoenix and freak right out, Dad!" to which Steve responds with one of those patented Fred MacMurray raised eyebrow looks that relays the idea that he just doesn't understand the younger generation and says, "Uh...well, uh...that's...very reassuring, Ernie."

Oh, and same episode, different scenario. Dodie asks Chip to play house with her and he agrees. In this sweet little girl voice she says, "Ok, I'm the mother, Myrtle's the baby, and you're the grandfather." Chip sits down and sweetly starts to play along, holding Myrtle and pretending to burp her when out of the blue Dodie frowns and says in a snappy little voice, "Stop leaving your ashes on the floor, Grandpa, I work like a dog around here!"I literally laughed out loud and still do when I think of it. Now that's playing REAL house, lol.

Here's a funny scene I'll always remember:

I think it's a Season 8 episode where Katie asks Rob his opinion on her appearance -- she's just made a change to her hairstyle, how she's combing it. But Rob is clueless and thinks she's referring to her dress. Rob comments that he thinks reaching the knees would be favorable...! LOL
Katie is somewhat stunned by the comment, or exasperated that Rob hasn't noticed the hairstyle change - or that he wants her to have knee-length hair!!
