Default Is Target adopting a new image to their stores?

I'm noticing that Target seems to have changed it's image to their stores and I would like to know why this is? Is it because Target is updating it's image to suit the generation of today or is Target trying to copy stores like Kohl's and Sears? Because every time I watch TV I see that Target is focusing on selling clothing and drifting away from being a discount store. When Target was first launched in the 60's Target was a great store that sold everything and everything you needed but now as I see this new image I think Target is headed in a new direction to attract more shoppers to keep the store fresh and fun
Have you noticed this about Target today?

You have a keen eye. These articles from last year discuss how Target has been remodeled. The fashions have been upgraded as well.

I went to Target today and it seems that Target has indeed changed it's image because if you visit Target it seems to look like Marshall's and TJ Maxx and is completely different than the old image Target always used to have. Another thing I noticed about Target is now that have started to play upbeat music in their stores like Kmart and Walmart do and I never knew Target played music because it was always silent and quiet. I did notice also that their electronics section is very small and focuses on Ipods MP3 players and tablets and the toy section is now turned into a children's area with a book section and a play area while the adult books and magazine section is gone too. And also their restaurant is focused on foods like sandwiches and soups and snacks and drinks such as Monster Energy Drinks and mocha lattes. So who what I think Target is attracting now is college students who want to stock up on things for their dorm rooms rather than the family image Target once had. If Target continues this image I can guarantee they will lose money from families and focus on college students and high school students and transform their stores into a Marshall's/Ross Dress For Less type store. The final thing I noticed about Target is they have started to have t-shirts and jackets with rock artists and the electronics section has merchandise with anything from Nintendo Star Wars Doctor Who and Japanese cartoons and Batman and when I first saw this it was like visiting Hot Topic and I can't believe Target is doing this. If Target would go back to it's family formula they would return to their old roots once again
