Last night's Johnny Carson from 1974 mentioned the Patsy Awards for TV animals. My cousins had a cat named Midnight for a long time, and I found out last night there was a TV cat with the same name who had won awards on Mannix and Barnaby Jones. How long did the Patsys last? I am guessing they are not still around today, that would be one award show that is actually worth watching. I would think there would still be a market for it on channels like Animal Planet and Hallmark with all their cat themed events.

They stopped doing it around 1986. There have been some imitators through the years though.

Arnold Ziffel of Green Acres won the award 4 times.
