Question Could we get a signature length rule?

Is there any way to get a rule on signature length? Some people have extremely long signatures...I mean like, 15 to 20 lines of it. The signatures be longer than what most people post! Plus, when the people with the long sigs post multiple times it is quite a pain to have to scroll all the way past it again.
Maybe you could have a 5 line signature rule or something? Just a thought.

Here's an example (no offense to the person with this sig)

Hi

I'm not sure if this offer still stands, but I think you can go into your edit profile or something and block out other people's sigs. Maybe TJ will reply to your question, but I think you can do that. I know this probably didn't help too much, but maybe it helped a little bit.

I remember a few months ago, some user, I don't remember who, had an extremely long signature and TJ pointed it out to her. She said she would shorten it but she didn't so TJ shortened it for her. He can do that if he feels the person's signature is too long.

I fixed it so I don't see anyone's signature. Makes things easier to read.

I think there is a way to hack that in the code to limit the signatures length, but it wouldn't roll back the current signatures. It would only affect newly added or modified signatures.

Krystal Lake, do you run horrordvdtalk.com ? Didn't you used to have a vBulletin? Why did you switch to Ikon Board?

Default I Moderate 'another' message board...

...and we indeed DO have a rule of no more than a normal paragraph on sig lines!

I usually check this site out at work on a DSL connection...but if I get replies at home (with a dial-up) I'll ignore them until I get back to a high speed line, because it takes FOREVER to open up the pages!!!

It seems that some members are just trying to out-do one another with the large graphics, pics, scrolls etc! Some look like little web-pages!

I hope I don't offend anyone...but sometimes it's a little rediculous! Especially when ya scroll down thru 4 feet of graphics, just to read "Oh yeah...I loved it!"

<< I think you can go into your edit profile or something and block out other people's sigs. >>

I'm gonna do that right now. Thanx!

I don't think Justin's signature is that long. I've seen longer. And most of his signature is of text, excluding that gif. however, gifs and texts dont take that long to load. (even with a slooooow 56k connection.)

Are you referring to Aly? (Iownthedivision69) I think she had her signature shorten twice, .

Whoa, I forgot about this thread.
Yes, I do run horrordvdtalk.com. We've never had vBulletin (unfortunately. Maybe when we get more members or more studios supporting our site) . I co-run that forum with the owner of eurohorrordvds.com.
You might be thinking of our competition: A larger horror site that's been around for a while whose name I will not mention.
