Yes!

A couple of June's best moments:

1. After Wally urged her to go up and talk to a mad Beaver ("He's just a little kid.") in June's Birthday, she had a really good talk with him, and was quite honest in admitting she was wrong to say she would wear the blouse, and then not doing it.

2. Much later, when Beaver had become a teen ager, he decided to give June the deep freeze after she made him go to the store when he wanted to go with Wally and Eddie to work on Eddie's car radio. This lasted only until a bee stung him, and he went running to mom. Again, they had one of their few nice talks (we know that most of the talks with the boys were with Ward).

So, on Mothers's Day, here's to June!

What I like the most about June is when she has heart-to-heart talks with Beaver; they're so sweet.

Along with that, I like it when Ward expects Beaver to be like him, but June suggests maybe Beaver is more like her. That June quote from "Beaver's Bike" is one of my favorites: "And don't you dare say he's just like me!" The conversation between Ward and June during "Beaver and Stanley" was pretty good, too. Ward was like, "Didn't you want a monkey when you were a kid?", and June was like, "I may have been peculiar, but no." Beaver and June parallels seasons 1 through 3: subtlety peculiar.

I think it's in Beaver's Secret Life, that June tells Beaver someone is always watching us. Not getting it, Beaver says teacher, parents, etc. He finally gets it, and says, You mean, like God? She was hinting to Beaver, trying to get him to stop doing dangerous things, after snooping in his diary.

Another nice scene, one you'd never see in a sitcom of today, unless it was in a mocking way.

I love the episode when June tells Beaver to write how his dad makes him feel and to write words from your heart when Beaver’s homework is to write an essay on “ The Most Interesting Character I Know”.

I liked that bit of advice, too. But I personally would have trouble writing from my heart. Sometimes it's hard for me to see the best character traits in a person.

Yes. Had they used the terminology back then, that would have been called "a very special episode." It was.

Everytime I see this episode, my eyes well up when Ward reads Beaver's essay.

If you read Mathers' book, you find he really liked that scene. The writers really outdid themselves.

...just mine.

Same here. Especially how “he will give up a whole Saturday to build things with me. He may not be interesting to you because he’s not your father, just mine.”
