Caught the version of this story shown on Mysteries at the Museum.
Both Unsolved Mysteries and Mysteries at the Museum seemed to pretty much dismiss the haunting aspect as either environmentally induced hallucinations or real sounds caused by the Peltier effect of water seeping through limestone rock or whatever. Even dismissing events such as Johnny hearing the entity speak his name, or sounds sometimes being heard by all and alleged entities at other times targeting separate individuals, as mere hallucinations brought on by environmental effects, how in the heck does one explain the manifestations taking place only at night, and only after people were settled in to sleep? How in the heck do random noises produced by water and rocks know whether people are in bed or not? Did anyone consider that the natural environment might give rise to truly paranormal disturbances? Gettysburg is also situated atop a certain type of rock known as a conduit for paranormal happenings and was known as haunted by local Native Americans before the town was even built. Could the whole haunting aspect be solved by simply building a new house on another part of the ranch not situated atop such rock? Maybe the ghost cowboys would not show interest in a new structure. |

Is this the one with the Indian ghost trailing along side a witness?

Like so many of these cases they & especially Johnny Way struck me as hucksters out to make money-they were looking to sublet it so what better way to jack up prices than create a good old ghost yarn? You see this all the time with people running or looking to sell pubs, theatres etc. Call in William Roll who hasn't been in a property that he doesn't think has a presence & hey presto.
The exact location has never been revealed-how convenient, this means nobody of a scientific background can actually investigate. There have been no updates since the show aired-so one has to assume they hawked it on the back of this & nothing of note has been reported there since, surely in the 20 plus years since if this stuff was going on we would have heard a lot more about it. Oh yeah-we have this haunted place but we aren't going to say where it is so it can be investigated or have interested people turning up. |
