Sometimes these MeTV edits are so obvious...in this episode, they cut the whole scene where Mrs. Rayburn and her secretary (forgot her name already) were discussing the diplomas that were put aside.
Funny, I don't remember our school making such a big deal about "graduating" from the eighth grade. |

That’s right they did delete that scene letting us know that Beaver was graduating. Of course he was graduating otherwise he would have gotten notice that he was failing. Beaver however was not good in math, English, art, PE. Wonder how he did in science. Hey Gilbert skipped English class and he was still graduating so why did he figure that was the reason. Wouldn’t it have been funny if Beaver admits to Mrs. R. he looked through her private documents without permission and gets arrested.
We never graduated from 8th grade. As a matter of fact we left elementary school and junior high was grades 7-9 then went to high school. |

Yes, Beaver wasn't good at art, and first Ward was, then later, he wasn't.

We didn't graduate from Elementary school, but did graduate from Middle School (9th grade), full graduation ceremony and everything.
Middle school was grades 7-9, then my Junior year in high school they made grade 9 part of the high school. |

I did not get Wally's attitude towards the Beav telling him that he cannot slack off the last week of school. School work was over. Not sure why Wally thought things could be changed at this late date.

When Beaver and Gilbert were going thru the diplomas, and Beaver didn't find his (but Gilbert found his), Beaver could have said, "Hey, why are you graduating if I'm not? You cut English just like I did."
In our small New Jersey town, there was no Junior High School. From 8th grade, you went right to High School. This was a regional High School, which encompassed several townships and boroughs. |

Plus you would think they had exams the last week of school then after that freedom.
After Wally has his all night party you would think no more school. In the next episode about Beaver seeing America Wally comes home with his books. |
