NBC Wanted Britney Spears on "Freaks and Geeks"
by Lindsey Kupfer April 22, 2018 "Freaks and Geeks" almost had a very random guest star. “One of the things was that NBC really wanted us to try and write Britney Spears into this,” the show’s creator, Paul Feig, revealed at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary on Saturday. “They were like, ‘She’s really popular now, maybe she could play a waitress or something,'” Feig said. The cult classic TV show, which followed a group of misfits at a Michigan high school in the 1980s, ran for one season between 1999-2000.
