Default The Bluebird Diner

When Barney calls Juanita (so sweet from her head to her feet) he calls the Bluebird Diner. Apparently it's mentioned that it's on the outskirts of town by Meyer's lake. Can't be too far away because Opie walks to Meyer's lake in the hobo/Robin Hood episode.

The diner in town is frequently seen. I guess they don't show it to keep the gag going that Juanitas not ever seen.

Morreli's is mentioned and Barney goes there with Juanita in Mt Pilot.

Funny that the Bluebird Diner is a stones throw away but no one eats there.

Anyone notice the layout of the in town diner changes. When Earnest T Bass passes Barney sugar it's a different layout than when seen in later episodes.

Mayberry must have had a few diners but I would have liked for Barney Barney Boo to drop into the Bluebird Diner to charm Yuanita.

Distances in Mayberry are often puzzling.

Like how far away is Wally's service station, really?

And there was the Tip Top Cafe in Mt. Pilot where Andy and Barney met the Fun Girls. And there was also a Chinese restaurant in Mt. Pilot that Andy went to on a few occasions. The distant from Mayberry to Mt. Pilot seemed to shrink as the series progressed.

Seems like Mount Pilot was always 11-12 miles away, but could be the roads between there and Mayberry were improved over the years.

Aunt Bee took a bus to Mt. Pilot in one of the early episodes. And it supposedly took Mrs. Lesh 4 hours to drive from Mt. Pilot to Mayberry in a later episode.

Wasn't Mrs. Lesh the con artist who sold Barney the lemon car?

Knowing her, she was probably lying.

Yes, she was. She was always getting mad at Grandpa, the old fool.
