Seems a bit odd considering Mark treated David quite poorly from memory.

But then Mark was his last connection to his biological family. Their parents obviously didn't care about them anymore in the wedding episode it's mentioned thst neither their mom or dad tried getting in conntact with them. That they didn't even respond to the invitation david sent them. So who knows maybe Mark and David became close in the short years before Mark died.
