I've tried a few of the more popular devices, but you can achieve the same results just by doing crunches.
Crunches, and more crunches.

Yeah, old fashion crunches and sit ups are the most effective thing, but I doubt you'll get the results you want in just a week or two. It takes time and repetition. You have to do more than just fifty a day everyday. If you're just starting doing them prepared to be sore. OUCH-painful stuff!

Strong abs won't make the fat go away. For that you need to - guess what - eat right and exercise aerobically. But having strong abs will contribute to your general health and make exercising an overall better experience. My daughter is a dancer and I'm a runner, both of which require strong abs, so I learned some methods for achieving that. Rather than doing crunches, do this similar, but better exercise. Slowly do a crunch only instead of doing more and more reps hold the crunch position for ten seconds, slowly return to the floor then repeat. Do that ten times Then rest, then repeat the ten reps two more times. That's after you build up to being able to do that. These are much more effective than customary crunches. Add a knees pulled SLOWLY to chest exercise (Knees bent - feet on floor - bring knees to chest return SLOWLY to floor.) I do 40 of those and that seems to be enough. Vary your amount and build over time. None of this will do any good if not sustained on a regular basis, as I believe Ks said. It's important to learn and use proper form for these and all exercises. It would be best to find a good book on the subject because It'd be difficult to explain proper form in this post and I wouldn't know if you got it right anyway. Good luck.
