do you think a re-boot of this series would work? I don't-they'd all be too old.
Maybe a reunion with say, Alex now retired and married to Elaine and they have 3 or 4 kids who are all grown now and one day he reads in the newspaper or something that Sunshine Cab is going out of business and the garage is being torn down so he decides to go back for one last look at it, he starts reminiscing about when he worked there and they show clips from some episodes. |

I'm not quick to jump on the reboot bandwagon, but after watching the Taxi reunion on Stars in the House, I can kind of see it. I think it was Judd Hirsch who said you wouldn't have to change much since the premise of Taxi was that none of them could get out of the garage. I like your idea of Sunshine Cabs going out of business (thanks uber!), it would add some interest to the plot. There certainly isn't an absence of material to work with since Taxi was pretty proactive in addressing current events.
