Which UM cases make you the most angry? Cases that in your opinion have suspects who are either obviously guilty, obviously innocent or cases that outrage you for any other reason.

I know I’m in the extreme minority here, but I don’t really see any problem with the “Confess Your Crime” bit that they aired back in 1990. In fact, if it weren’t for the parents of Angela Cummings completely grasping at straws, this bit would have been all but forgotten within weeks of it airing and rightfully so. The details given in the call were so generic and so vague that I don’t know how anybody could have fallen for it or, at the very least, attempted to tie it to a particular case. The voice of the caller not matching any particular suspect should have been the end of any investigation. Even as a youngster when I first heard the bit, I was convinced it was a prank phone call. Little did I know that the deejays were actually in on it themselves. It was actually quite brilliant when you think about it. Those guys were in their rookie year as deejays and they got a good amount of publicity over this. They’re still on the air to this day, over 28 years later. They obviously did something right. But what do I know?

Larry Gibson ended up serving a paltry three years for the killing of his son. As an aside, he acted on UM as if shooting feral cats before a morning jog was a normal thing to do. Completely repulsive individual.

Oba Chandler and Darlie Routier are the two most reprehensible individuals that were profiled on UM to me. I couldn’t narrow it all the way down, so I have awarded the prize of Number One Scum to each different sex.

I respect your opinion, but I think they should have admitted it before the LAPD dedicated time and money into investigating. I was also rubbed the wrong way by them admitting to UM that lying about such a thing would be a "definite line you don't cross" while crossing that line and blatantly lying.
Agree to disagree though. It's very interesting to hear a minority opinion on this one, and makes for good discussion.

One of the cases that makes me angriest? Kenneth McDuff. This guy never should have been out of prison in the first place after committing multiple murders. I can only hope the people responsible for making this decision were somehow punished or stripped of their positions.

Also infuriating is the Baby Jane Doe case. It would have been all too easy to leave the poor child at a hospital or somewhere else...and this couple chose to beat her to death. This case makes me so sick to my stomach and enraged that the guy was never caught.

As someone who wanted a child more than anything and lost both of them, I can't tell you how angry and upset this makes me. I or anyone in my shoes would gladly take the baby and even pay them $$$. This was not a case of postpartum psychosis or other mental illness since they went to a secluded area and both of them did it (or at least she never even attempted to stop him). As well, think of how traumatizing that would be to witness! Can I please beat both of them to death with a rock?

Having gotten that off my chest, I will still have to go with the David and Cynthia Dowaliby case. I still can't believe that they were treated in such a cruel, unfair manner on top of losing their daughter. I can't say with 100% certainty they are innocent (only 99.99%) but the 'evidence' is beyond laughable and yet they were able to convince a jury. Makes you wonder how many other people like David are wrongfully convicted based on law enforcement looking to just get a conviction of any type. What's even more bizarre is how David was convicted but not Cynthia solely because an unreliable witness claimed to have seen a nose resembling David's from a football field away! Not a face, not height, weight or hair but a nose! You can't even make this stuff up! This case makes you realize how you can be convicted of a crime even when there is zero solid evidence or motive, it defies all logic and common sense and in this case there IS a potential suspect with a very weak alibi (Tim Guess). Is there something in the water in Illinois?

The white trash garbage that was Chad Noe and Ida Pruitt. The audacity to be part of a conspiracy to murder two women and a child, dump them in a septic tank, and then sit in front of a national audience and lie about it.

That's the only time I've been actually angry over over an update.

I don't agree with that at all. The radio and LA Police stations were flooded with calls from hopeful family members of unsolved murder victims after that phony confession was broadcast over the air. Angela Cummings' mother was just one of the many from that area and time who were given a sense of false hope as a direct result.

If you watch the update interview with Angela's mother (though it's not included on Amazon Prime) she never said that this was a case closed foregone conclusion when the "confession" was first aired. She simply said she got a phone call from an investigator who told her they might have a lead on her daughter's case. As a result, she was given a smidgen of hope that something would be done, something COULD be done, which were her exact words. Sadly after 20+ years, there STILL has been no resolution to her case.

I think it was brilliant of UM to include Angela's mother in the update because it gave the viewers a face and voice of just one of the many grieving people who were essentially given the middle finger by Kevin and Bean. Not to mention the Unsolved Mysteries crew, who were played to look like fools after they asked the DJ's point blank if this was all a publicity stunt before airing this segment coast to coast. Kudos to them for making it clear to the public what those two a**holes did.
