As Elton John became more popular in the 70's with the song Mama Can't Buy You Love it seemed that Elton John wanted to branch out into disco music but as the 80's began Elton John changed his image and wanted to be a dance pop singer and adopt a dance pop sound on his albums starting with the song I'm Still Standing and when I have listened to it I think this song was the start of a new image for Elton John that he would adopt through the 90's. When the album Reg Strikes Back came out in 1988 the song I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That proved that dance music could work wonders for Elton John and he would soon adopt this image with the albums The One Made In England and The Big Picture in the 90's. Was Elton John expanding his horizons with this image to attract more fans to buy his music?
