Thumbs up My experience

Well as you all know I am going to tell you a little of what I experienced when I met Lucky, Mariposa and Laz. (Even though I told you some of it already) LOL..............

I went to meet all three with my Hubby Joe. He remembers Freddie Prinze growing up like I did. At first I saw Laz come out of the Comedy Club (I was waiting for Lucky and Mariposa) I noticed that this young man had the Freddie sideburns and the Freddie moustache. (I knew he was the comic - I just knew it)

Then I saw Luckymama come out of her van. When I saw her face I knew it was
her because I had seen photos of her and Mariposa on another website. I was so happy to finally meet them. Believe me we were all nervous to meet each other.
We all went into the club. Then the show started. Before Laz came out to do his Freddie schtick, there were comics impersonating Moms Mabely, Redd
Foxx, Bill Cosby, etc. Then Laz came out and started his stand up. Seeing Laz perform Our Freddie was such a delight! We were happy to see him perform Freddie.

More to come.................................

How I woulda loved to be there! Can't wait to see pictures!
Did it seem like you were really sitting in front of Freddie himself?
Its so neat that you got to go to his show and see his performance! I'm jealous!! LOL!

I'm Back..................

Okay at first Laz got on stage and was imitiating Freddie. He laughed like Freddie........ He spoke like Freddie but, he
had his regular clothes on.

Later on he came out again and this time he morphed into Freddie. He wore a shirt with a long collar like Freddie and a suit like Freddie. He wore a Freddie wig..........

More to come..............

Wow, you really had a great time! I've never been to a comedy club but would love to go to one.I live in New York City and out of all of the comedy clubs here,I still haven't been to one!

I would've been nervous also, but it must've been great to finally meet up with each other. I would love to see Laz inmitate Freddie one day! It sounds like you had so much fun,I feel so left out.

Sitcomesaretheway - I'm from N.Y. too. This Sunday is his last performance. I think if I would've known you before then I would've liked to had met you too.

On to the show...............

As I looked on to the stage seeing Laz morph into Freddie I felt a rush of nostalgia. My mind went back...........

Freddie started this way.......... Just like this young man on the stage. As Laz kept on imitiating Freddie, I can see in Laz's face that he became Freddie.... He laughed like Freddie. At one moment Laz said "Everybody
sing"........ In the background the Chico and the Man song started to play. Then Jose Feliciano started singing.........

Chico don't be discouraged.........
The man he ain't so hard to understand...

Luckymama, Mariposa and I started to sing along with Jose Feliciano the Chico song....... Laz (as Chico) was singing and dancing and the people were having so much fun..........

Some people who were sitting nearby us looked at our table because they had never heard the Chico and the Man song before. But what those people didn't know was............ "We were the diehard Freddie Sr. fans"..........

Then when the song finished Laz went back up on the stage.......... The people were clapping.

More to come..............

When Laz got on the stage the drama of Freddie's life soon began............. Laz became serious and became Freddie........ Not Chico on the Chico and
the man show, Not like the young comedian....... But as an actor. He became the real life Freddie Prinze. He talked about his life away from the spotlight and gave a riveting performance. Let me tell you........... I was sitting on the edge of my seat....

The audience just sat there speechless as he told us all about Freddie's life. At the end everybody clapped and yelled YAY.............

At the end of everyones performance all the actors and comedians took their bows..........

I could tell by looking at Mariposa. Luckymama and my hubby Joe that this was a performance worth seeing. Even his fellow comedians were in awe of Laz..............

More to come............

Red face

I know during one of the pauses from the show that Mariposa, Luckymama and I talked about this message board. I told them about the beautiful avatar that Dani made me. Plus we reminisced about the role play we used to do. We were laughing so much. . I told Mariposa that I love her avatar of Freddie standing with the pink shirt and we laughed....

Then Laz came to our table and introduced himself to us. He thanked Luckymama for all the help she gave him and all the advice she gave him about Freddie. Luckymama told him that we were also meeting each other for the first time. (Lucky, Mariposa, and I). He thought we always knew each other We told him that we've been speaking on this Sitcom site for a year and a half. He was surprised.

Then we whipped out our cameras and started to take photos with Laz (Up on the stage). It was so funny. We were taking turns. We also thanked the other comedians and told them we also enjoyed their breathtaking performance.

We told Laz that we would be outside and he said to wait for him. So we were outside waiting for Laz. When Laz came out we started picture taking again.

More to come.....................

After that we went to a place to relax...............

I drank a hot coffee, My hubby ate a burger. We talked about Freddie's life some more. We talked about other comics, We talked about California and Laz was enthusiastic about (maybe) becoming an actor one day. He spoke about his studies in school. Lucky and Mariposa spoke about their life back home. It was such a wonderful end to our meeting. We must've stayed there at least an hour and a half. At the end we said our Goodbye's and hoped to see each other again one day. All for the love of Freddie Prinze............... He has bought us all together.........

THE END

OMG! I'm reading this story and all of sudden I'm in it! LOL I'm so embarrassed! I didn't do anything special enough, but since I'm here I might as well say that I'm so glad to read the story. It sounds like such fun and that's what we all need! To have fun!
