Just wondering if the discs are still double-sided.

I bought it last year and yes, unfortunately, the discs are 'flippers'.

As long as MGM/Fox is the issuing DVD studio of The Addams Family, the discs will likely always be double sided. The only way this would change is if another studio obtains the DVD rights and re-issues the series properly on single sided discs.
Universal has been good by re-issuing some TV show DVD's on single sided discs that they originally issued on double sided discs. Emergency!, Munsters, and Leave It To Beaver are some examples. One series that I still have on double sided DVD's is Gilligan's Island. It's not an all time favorite show of mine, so it isn't a priority for me to upgrade to the single sided discs. Also, I suspect that some DVD episodes of Gilligan's Island might be edited, some episodes time in at under 25 minutes. These episodes may be edited, it could also be they're complete and just run a little short. |

Yes, looking one Amazon, nothing has changed. Mine have lousy quality. I'd have done better recording them off TV.

I bought them in the single season sets, I didn't find any problem with how they looked, they all looked sharp and clear. HOWEVER, I did have a problem with one of the discs not playing a couple episodes, it froze up and wouldn't play, this was Disc 1 Side A from "Volume 2" episodes 1.23 "Thing Is Missing" & 1.24 thru 1.26. I had to record these episodes from TV myself in order to see them. It was too late to return this Volume to the seller, by the time I discovered the bad disc it was a year or 2 later.

I don't remember where I got mine, it's been so many years. If I got it off ebay, it could be a bogus set. I guess I'd better re-order off Amazon, since I can only find Volume 3, anyway.
