Hi everyone,
As I await to hear from a possible source. Does anyone out there have a copy or know of people who do. One of those lost workprints that hasn't been seen in 20 years but I'm looking to change that. If anyone has any info message me at moviecritic1990@hotmail.com you can check out my trading and want list here: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=366828 Thanks, |

I recall this was circulating in the late 90s as a VCD and VHS bootleg. I also heard it supposedly had a timecode and some unfinished effects and possibly some extra scenes. I haven’t seen anyone claim to have it since maybe 1999 or so. |

I heard rumors of some having it a few years back.

Funny how workprints like Armageddon, Crash and Mask of Zorro are tough to find whereas other ones like Austin Powers and or Mighty Joe Young are easy to find. I'm beginning to think that there's some sort of huge conspiracy. The workprint for Armageddon was floating around in the late 1990's and all of a sudden, *poof gone. Something tells me there's more to it then just disappearing for a long time.

I think it’s just the nature of trading. It could be that certain people had the workprint to begin with, maybe only a handful of people got the workprint from them, those people don’t trade anymore, the original source doesn't trade anymore. Boom it’s out of circulation. Also, most of these were on vhs. A lot of people dumped their vhs tapes years ago. Also, with Workprints and bootlegs, some were just so poor quality they may not have been deemed worth keeping by the people who had them originally. Or perhaps the people didn’t know there was extra footage (or there wasn’t) so they didn’t keep the tape. People’s interests wax and wane. I still have a ton of vhs tapes here in my storage closet. I doubt I’ll ever get them all digitized and I’ll probably end up dumping them some day. Or I’ll die, and my family will dump them. Sad but true. |

The fun part of watching these workprints despite the poor quality is the editing process and the fact that some have extra scenes. I agree that a lot of people have thrown their tapes or vcds out but there's always that one person who may have it. The goal for me is to help people add to their collections, bring back what's been gone for so long into the trading community. I believe one day I'll find Armageddon, Crash and the rest.
