I'm thinking of buying a digital camera in the near future and wanted some input from those of you who own one. What brands should I look for (or stay away from) and what features would be best to look for to take everyday pictures as well as vacation pictures.
Also, what are some pros and cons you see using a digital camera vs. a regular film camera? Thanks for your help! |

My mom has a digital camera...But unfortunately I don't know much about it, like the brands and the features and everything.
But I do know it's a lot better than just a regular camera... First of all, you get to see the picture right after you take it..And you can delete it if you don't like it. I'm sorry, I didn't help at all... But I definitely suggest them.

All I can say is, go for the expensive ones. We bought a $40 one and it's a piece of crap.

Stay away from Hewlett Packard Digi Cams... mine has broken three times. They replaced it each time but its a hassle. It just quits working. Mine was 200 dollars which is really kinda cheap compared to a lot of others. Oh yeah and the more pixels the camera has the better pic quality you'll get. And if you want to print your pics from the computer I'd find some good paper because the kind I have is junk... it prints on it and all but it smears off if you have like sweat or anything on your finger.

I wouldn't buy a 1 mega-pixel camera. The pictures from them aren't all that great. I would get a 2 mega-pixel camera.

i have a digital camera. thanx to my dad. *smiles brightly* but if i were you, i'd go for like sony or the bigger name brands. usually they have better quality. and don't go to target or k-mart to get em. go to like fry's or best buy or some electronic store. oh, and...think about getting one that has a video thingy in it. are there ones like that? lol..i dunno. but if there are ones where you can film and take pics, and it works out cheaper i dunno, i'd get that. good luck.

Folks who have purchased the models from Nikon's Coolpix series seem to be happy campers. I think the 880 or 885 is about 3.34 mega-pixel. Good luck.

I have a Polaroid PhotoMax digital camera. I bought it for $79.00 and it takes perfect pictures. The only thing it doesn't have is a zoom button. You can't zoom in and out, but other than that it's excellent. It has a little screen where you can see the pictures right after you take them etc. If you don't like the pics you just delete them. Here I will show you a couple pictures I took ...
(I had to resize the pics so I could make them all one so I didn't have to keep uploading them) |
