Who was the nastiest sitcom boss? Was it Mel Sharples on Alice or Louie DePalma on Taxi?

I'm going to go off the board and say Milburn Drysdale of the Beverly Hillbillies. He might have been the closest thing to Scrooge that ever existed on TV.

Louie DePalma absolutely. He was the most disgusting, selfish, lewd, crude, thoughtless, hateful boss ever.

Lou Grant comes to mind. Lou was angry to pissed off often, prone to fits and was a borderline alcoholic. Even physically assaulted one of his employees (Ted Baxter) in a rage. Actually a good guy inside, but WJM nearly gave him a heart attack. Have another drink Lou, ever thought about moving to California and being a newspaper editor?
