Default June and Ward at the Drugstore

I could swear I saw that inflatable seahorse (from Forgotten Party) in the store before June and Ward sit at the soda fountain. (School Sweater)

If you're talking about that thing that was in the foreground before they moved over to the counter and June had her hissy fit about the girl who had her "clutches in our baby", I think it was a different inflatable toy. Didn't the one in Forgotten Party have a head to it?

The way June was going off the deep end (it continued in the next scene), you'd think Frances ran him down or something. (Ward could have said, "June, dear, take it easy. You've been reading too much Dear Abby [or Tell it to Ella].")

Okay, this brings something up I have been meaning to ask. When the Cleavers move, how far away from their old home did the move? Was the town big enough that there would be a different soda fountain closer to where they now live?

There are several eps which show a drug store & soda fountain, and they all appear different. The one in this ep about the sweater, for instance, is not the same set as in "Wally's Weekend Job," and, and both are different than in the one where Beaver meets Larry, who did not pay Beaver the money he owed. And I know there are more.

As for the seahorse, there was some inflation going on at that time.

Different set decorators in different episodes and/or different scenery available...if it's not a "permanent" set, it's probably not gonna look the same. The couple of times Ward and June's bedroom was shown, it looked different each time.

On Andy Griffith/Mayberry RFD, I don't think Howard Sprague ever lived in the same house from episode to episode. Same with Dr. Bellows in I Dream of Jeannie...Abner and Gladys in Bewitched...on and on.

Speaking of Howard’s house, I love that episode when Howard becomes a swinging bachelor. It is so embarrassing how he and Goober have no luck getting dates and expect Helen to keep dancing with them. It was so pathetic how Howard thinks he’s going to lead this swinging life just because he redecorates with pop art and purple pillows. At the end you find the next “bash” will include Goober, Howard, 2 nurses and their mothers.

And, as usual, even Emmett the old fogey had to be in on it.

They redid the Howard bash episode on Mayberry RFD, but this time Howard moved to a swinging singles apt.
