I was at a Styx concert last weekend (which was quite good). At the Seban theater in Beverly Hills, CA.
The music, of course, was loud and I could hear and feel the bass easily. It got me thinking about home stereos. I know some people like the bass set about mid-way. Some like it about 3/4 toward maximum and some like it at maximum. So, that is the question... what do you have the bass setting on your home or car stereo or whatever you listen to music on? Poll is included. |

I want my music to sound loud, rich, and crisp, so I have the settings on my stereo receiver fairly high. On a scale of plus 1 to plus 10, I have the bass settings at about a plus 7, and the treble settings at about a plus 8 or plus 9. And I activate the loudness button too which enhances the sound even more.

. So I reduced the bass settings to 7 or 8 and the treble settings to 8 or 9, and that sounds pretty good. My receiver has a graphic equalizer with seven different settings, some control the bass and some control the treble.

I voted don't notice the settings. I mean, yeah I notice them, but I tend to keep things at the factory preset.

I like standard analogue bass....... I do not like the heavy digital crap bass I hear on alot of songs now....... Its really very sad....
One time I got a cassette of a 1985 song on a compilation tape from the 90s .. It was disgusting.... The 80s song had heavy bass,etc......... I got rid of that and got the original 1985 cassette and it sounds beautiful... Thankfully they hadnt done that to it yet... |
