Default Have you noticed how characters on shows associate with others on different shows?

For example
Harriette Winslow(Family Matters) was an elevator operator on Perfect Strangers and later met Steve Urker(Family Matters) who made a visit to the Tanner's home(Full House) and Michelle and Uncle Jesse dropped by Mark Cooper's House(Hangin' With Mr. Cooper)while Steve Urkel also visited The Fosters/Lambert family on Step by Step. Eventually the Family took a trip to Disney World and Dana(Step by Step) talked to Cory Matthews-who also sent a chain letter to Steve Urkel. Cory's brother Eric dated Sabrina(Sabrina, The Teenage Witch) who met Cher(Clueless) where Cher's friends Murray and Sean were fighting over Niecy(Moesha) and Amber (Clueless) picked Hakeem (Moesha) as a possible candidate for senior prom date for Cher and Dionne while Moesha's best friend Kim (Moesha, The Parkers)whose mother Nikki was in trouble with Mr. Hughley(The Hughley's) While Niecy appeared on Girlfriends while Moesha's brother Dorian was the nephew to Maya(Girlfriends)

Small World, Huh?

Talking

I'm out of breath, Jees Louise! That's funny. I don't know how you put all of that together. You must have had the inside dope somehow. It reminds me though, and I insist that you don't take this in a way that it isn't intended because it makes me mad as heck and bewildered as all get out when someone says this to me on these boards when I write something beyond four lines. So for the purpose of making a point right now with what you wrote, which is perfect sitcom board chatter by the way, which is what people on these boards do with a portion of their time- watch sitcoms, and some people more so than others, I'll put this mystery out there for possible feedback. Every once in a while I'll write and post something substantial. You know, similar to what a writer might do. After all, writers do write. And then someone will come on the board and say something like "Someone has too much time on their hands," or "Get a life." The irony of those statements... on these boards!... is mind numbing!

It's true Kitt...and annoying when this happens. I've often wondered why people will read a carefully crafted post and then make fun of the writer. Perhaps people get intimidated or even a tad jealous of good writers. Others are just wiseguys.
It's ironic, as you say, because this is a message board. Shortly after 9/11, someone told me not to concern myself with something I posted (a sitcom topic), because after the WTC events, it was unimportant. Meanwhile, I'm thinking, and promptly wrote back that this was a sitcom message board, and I simply posted an opinion....about a sitcom. It wasn't as if I went to a 9/11 message board and posted about Cheers.
Some people!

Ok, let me give this a try:

Paul Buchman(Mad About You)used to live in the same apartment that Jerry Seinfeld(Seinfeld)eventually moved into. Ursula the waitress from M.A.Y. is the twin sister of Phoebe Buffay(Friends)who ran into Helen Hunt(Mad About You)at Central Perk. Phoebe's friend Chandler met Annie(Caroline in the City)at a local video store. I also believe one of Ross's(Friends)friends turns out to be (The Single Guy) [I'm sorry I forgot his name] I believe Elaine Benes(Seinfeld)showed up on another show as someone's blind date, but I forget which one.

Here's a small one:

On Silver Spoons, Ricky Stratton was once interviewed by Arnold Jackson. Arnold Jackson was a character on Diff'rent Strokes, who had a crush on Dorothy Tootie Ramsey on The Facts of Life!

NBC was always big on the crossover episodes.

They haven't done that in a while.

They also managed to link the casts of Wings ANd Cheers with a few crossover episodes.

If anyone can remember if they linked Cheers and Wings with the series of NBC shows braindamage mentioned above, then that just about links all of the prime time NBC comedies of the 90's.

Then I'm pretty sure the apocalypse will be upon us all..

Several years back when TGIF was still going strong on ABC
the network did a multi-series crossover all night where Sabrina
had to chase Salem through all the other shows then airing. The
best ep. of the crossover was the Sabrina/Boy Meets World
crossover where, for some reason,Salem's presence makes the
Matthews family,Topanga,Mr.Finney,etc.go back in time to WW II.

I remember!!! Elaine Benes was the blind date to Jonathan Silverman's character on The Single Guy! I guess that brings those shows full circle.

Sadly, Cheers and Wings were a part of a different sitcom universe. You may remember when George Costanza and Jerry Seinfeld were putting together a pilot, George was complaining that they weren't being paid Ted Danson money. Also, while Jerry was doing the Tonite Show, George was talking to George Wendt about ideas for Cheers episodes. The Cheers/Wings universe has ties with St. Elsewhere and The John Larroquette Show.

Default Series Crossovers

Cheers and Wings were in fact part of the same universe.

Frasier held a seminar on Nantucket Island during an episode of Wings.

I don't remember any Wings/John Larroquette Show crossovers.
How did they connect a New England airport with a St. Louis bus station?

Although in one episode of Mad About You, Jamie learned that Paul had kept his old apartment and was subletting it (hence the Seinfeld crossover), there was a Seinfeld episode where Susan told George to come to bed and watch the episode of Mad About You she had taped

You're right about Mad About You and Seinfeld, I guess the writer's from both shows didn't get together to discuss storylines. About Cheers/Wings/Frasier/ Larroquette being tied together, Frasier and Lillith flew on a Wings plane, John Larroquette called the Frasier Crane show to ask Dr. Crane's advice on his love life.
