Default Never Noticed This Before

Watching Beaver Takes a Bath I noticed that Wally had a band-aid on his left hand. Later in Beaver’s Bus you see the scar. He must have had it a long time cuz you see the scar in Wally and Alma.

Beaver's Bus has some great writing. Is this the episode where Wally says, You're a kid and you got no rights, etc. Also, That's a fancy way o' sayin', don't holler out the window.

This is also the episode where the elusive lamp post makes one of its infrequent daytime appearances. I guess there were some differences between the soundstage build and the real exterior.

I'll have to watch for Wally's hand...I'd never noticed that, either.

Talking Style The Nurse Nancy Way

Was it one of those colorful picture band aids that came with the Nurse Nancy book? I remember those when I was a kid and had a Nurse Nancy book.

Don’t remember Nurse Nancy.

It was a regular old skin color bandaid. Maybe Torgo can find a pic of the bandaid. You see it a lot when the water is leaking through the ceiling and later with the towels. I bet that bathroom floor was clean like in Beaver’s Laundry when they clean up the suds on the kitchen floor.

Beaver Takes A Bath

School Bus

Borrowed Boat

Beaver's Fortune

Blind Date Committee (This was obviously later filmed later as Wally's wound is almost healed, but the episode is the first of the season)

Beaver's Team

Hey Torgo great job. Isn’t it funny how a scar can tell a lot. Like how Blind Date Committee was filmed later than the others. In Pet Fair we see Wally pretending to be a parrot and the scar has healed. It must have been quite a cut. You can see the scar pretty good in Wally and Alma so that must have been around Beaver’s Bus. I’m gonna check out the scar in Beaver’s Library Book.

Default Episodes by Prod. Number - Season Three

The production numbers can be a better guide than the order shown on the network. From Wiki, here is the production order (number on network showing in parens.):

School Bus 1 (3)
Beaver's Tree 2 (8)
Wally's Play (this was not shown until June 11, 1960!) 3 (37)
Blind Date Committee 4 (1)
Beaver's Fortune 5 (10)
Beaver Takes A Walk 6 (6)
Beaver Finds A Wallet (not shown until April 23, 1960) 7 (30)
Beaver Takes A Bath 8 (2)
Beaver's Prize 9 (4)
Borrowed Boat 10 (7)
Beaver's Library Book 11 (18)
Baby Picture 12 (5)
Teacher Comes To Dinner 13 (9)
June's Birthday 14 (13)
Pet Fair 15 (16)
Wally's Election 16 (19)
School Sweater 17 (23)
Beaver The Magician 18 (12)
Beaver Makes A Loan 19 (11)
Tire Trouble 20 (14)
Larry Hides Out 21 (15)
Wally's Test 22 (17)
Beaver and Andy 23 (20)
Beaver's Dance 24 (21)
The Hypnotist 25 (24)
Larry's Club 26 (22)
Wally and Alma 27 (25)
Ward's Baseball 28 (28)
Beaver's Monkey 29 (29)
Wally's Orchid 30 (27)
Beaver's Bike 31 (26)
Mother's Day Composition 32 (31)
Beaver and Violet 33 (32)
The Spot Removers 34 (33)
Beaver the Model 35 (34)
Wally the Businessman 36 (35)
Beaver and Ivanhoe 37 (36)
Beaver's Team 38 (39)
The Last Day of School 39 (38)

From what I've read about when child actors can and can't work, probably scenes from diffrerent episodes were filmed out of order, also. It may be that a lot depended on when the adults and children were available together.

Wow great research. I can’t believe Wally only has the scar in Beaver’s Bus but in Beaver Takes a Bath later he has a bandaid.

I just expanded it out to the whole season. The scar/bandaid discrepancy could be explained by scenes filmed out of order. Like I said it all depended on when the kids and adults were available. I also imagine things got out of order when it came to going on location. Going out of order must have been a horror show when it came to memorizing scripts.

When I was watching Beaver Takes a Bath I could swear there were scenes when he had the band aid and scenes when he didn't. I need to study Torgo's shots again.

Oh that’s right and could explain the inconsistencies of the dialogue.

I was amazed how in Beaver Takes a Walk Wally says how Tooey bought a scooter for 75 cents that he and Wally will work on. Then in the next episode the network shows Borrowed Boat, June thinks the policeman is calling about that scooter. The production list shows them as 6 and 10.

I'll be interested to see if there's any sign of a band aid or scar in Wally's Play or Beaver Finds A Wallet (that one is on MeTV next week). Both were filmed way before they were shown...especially Wally's Play, which was filmed third but was ep. 37 on the network.
