Default What's the story?

Hi you all I'm a new Jeannie fan, I came across a video at suncoast for IDOJ andd it looked pretty good so I bought it, the tape name was "Jeannie's Seein' Stars" and this was a good show! So I set it up to record from my dads satelite, I was wondering if someone could reply the story of how everything started like in the first episode. Thanks!

I will soon give you a synopsis if no one else does. Meanwhile, I think that Jeannie and Dallas (one of our board members here) can probably answer that one for you.

Is this the first time you've ever seen this show?

BTW, I know some of you might be aware of this, but at a few gambling casinos out there (especially in Reno and Las Vegas), they have IDOJ casinos games. Well, you've got to be at least 21 (or appear to be) in order to play

I agree with Paula. Jeannie and Dallas and I are good friends, and she is an expert on the show. No one can give you better details than she can. I will get her right on it!!!

Hi,
I'm Jeannie and Dallas and you want to know about what happened on the first episode, piece of cake.

On September 18, 1965( the original air date) Captain Anthony Nelson went on space flight or at least he was supposed to. Something went wrong with Captain Nelson's flight and he had to come down. He landed on a deserted island somewhere in the South Pacific. On the island he laid out all of his astronaut gear and began to gather anything he could find that might be near him to make a huge SOS. In doing so he used a bottle to make the S but it kept moving out of place. Finally, after watching move he opened it and with a loud pop the cork came out and so did pink smoke. Then to the amazement of his eyes the smoke turned into a beautiful blonde genie named Jeannie. Not believing what he saw he rubbed his eyes but she was still there then she said that he was her master only she said it in Arabic. Then she kissed him. Captain Nelson then tried to get her to blink up a ship but she couldn't understand him and he couldn't understand her. So she blinked in a small raft instead of a ship. Then he wanted her to blink a plane. With the lack of communication he had to act it out so Jeannie thought he meant a bird. So she blinked one in and he carelessly said "I had to get a genie that doesn't speak english" and " I wish you could understand me" Then Jeannie said " I wish I knew how to please thou master" and she said it in english. Now that they could talk to each other, he asked for a helicopter and he got it. Then realizing that he couldn't take her with him because he might lose his job if someone found out about her and how she was a genie he set her free only she didn't want to be free she wanted to stay with him. So while he was talking to the pilot she blinked into her bottle and moved it inside some of his astronaut gear and went home with him.
And so it began.

Did I answer your question I can write more if you'd like? Oh and if your wondering why I refered to Tony as Captain Nelson rather than Major Nelson it is because at that time he was a Captain it wasn't until episode 22 "How Lucky Can You Get" that he and Roger were promoted to Majors. Also Roger first found out about Jeannie being a genie in episode 17 "The Richest Asronaut In the World". Roger steals Jeannie away from Tony. So to get her back Tony tells Dr.Bellows about all of Roger's new stuff ( a yacht, a mansion, that sort of thing) and Dr.Bellows thinks that Roger is selling secrets to the Middle East. So then Roger gives Jeannie back to Tony and Jeannie makes all of Roger's stuff disappear and makes Dr.Bellows forget all about what Tony told him.
I hope that I told you enough if you have any questions feel free to ask because I love answering them.
Thank You,
Jeannie and Dallas

I couldn't have explained it the way Jeannie and Dallas did any better myself (in fact, I probably wouldn't be able to explain it as well). That was a good description of the first ep. And truthfully, I haven't seen it in over 13 years!

Thank You Paula. I've got almost every episode on tape. I taped them off of the Hallmark channel. I play basketball and softball and a lot of the time the games would be at the same time that I Dream of Jeannie was on so I started tapeing it and I decided why not have all of them on tape.

No Prob.

I think I've seen every ep of IDOJ, but it's been a while now. One good thing about waiting years to see a show is that it's like almost new all over again when you get back to it. So I've got some catching up to do!!!
