Default Lippy the Lion

Anyone remember this Hanna-Barbera cartoon from the early 60s Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har? Lippy was an enterprising lion while Hardy was a sad hyena who kept sayin "Oh dear. Oh my. Oh me. Oh my."

Yeah, I remember them well. They were a part of the afternoon cartoon show in my area, hosted by a local personality. Good times.

Yeah...Hardy Har Har is one who needs an overdose of Prozac...and he'll STILL not be happy.

Oh,yes. That was a great time for Hanna-Barbera cartoons(the 1960's).The 1960's(late 1950's,too)was the "golden age of Hanna-Barbera cartoons."And the "Lippy the lion and Hardy Har Har"was one reason why.And the late, great Mel Blanc was also the voice of Hardy Har Har.They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Default "Lippy the Lion and Hardy-Har-Har"....

...was one segment of a syndicated 1962 Hanna-Barbera series (the others being "Wally Gator" and "Touche Turtle") that were [as 'Retro4Life' accurately remembers] initially seen as part of several local children's shows {in New York, Milt Moss was the host of WPIX-TV's "CARTOON ZOO", which featured life-size cutouts of each of the three characters in "cages", while Moss appeared as "Zookeeper", introducing the cartoons and doing live commercials}.

Touche Turtle's pal Dum Dum was voiced by Alan Reed, Fred Flintstone himself.

I always wondered if these 3 cartoon segments were ever a 1/2 hour cartoon show in the tradition of The Huckleberry Hound Show, Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw, The Magilla Gorilla Show, etc.

Anyway, Lippy, Hardy Har-Har, Wally Gator and Touche were included on the early '70's show Yogi's Ark Lark/Yogi's Gang.

Default Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har

Another underrated cartoon of the Hanna-Barbera library was a cartoon called Loopy The Lion And Hardy Har-Har and it came out in the 60's and not much is known about Loopy The Lion And Hardy Har-Har except that it had a great theme song. It would sure be nice if Boomerang or Cartoon Network could show some of the underrated Hanna-Barbera cartoons on TV because it's about time cartoons like Loopy The Lion And Hardy Har-Har get the chance to be seen on TV again

Hes actually called Lippy the Lion. Theyll never rebroadcast it unless they produce a block dedicated to classic HB toons or create a new channel. Sadly, thats just the reality of things. Maybe Warner Archive will release the series on DVD soon.

I remember Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har. Hardy was always depressed and usually said "Oh dear. Oh my. Oh me. Oh my."

Hi, Bestie! Hanna-Barbera made so many good cartoons, there should be a Hanna-Barbera channel! I remember Loopy The Lion And Hardy Har-Har. Their theme song was almost as good a Wally Gator. Thanks for the memories Bestie!
