Insults at Carla

I have noticed that the other characters rarely insulted Carla back. But when they did, they went all the way out to be funny.
I know Lilith got her good at times, like when Lilith got in her face during that infamous hair episode.

I remember a good insult Diane leveled at Carla in one episode.

Sam is in the hospital for a hernia operation. Diane is in the room with him.
Carla enters.

Diane - Hello Carla, you see there are other rooms in the hospital besides the maternity ward.

Score one for Diane!

LOL TJ! I agree. I always felt prideful when Diane would stick up to Carla. Diane was an intelligent character too, so her comments were sometimes funnier than Carla's. Same with Frasier. His comeback were absolutely hilarious, because they were so thoroughly thought out.

I read the one about ecopod which is what prompted me to start this topic. That was such a nasty thing to say. I was just in shock. What was Carla's reaction to that? Oh, Carla totally had it coming! After all her years of referring to Lilith as Morticia, insulting her complexion, just generally relating Lilith to anything that has to do with death or anything morbidly creepy. LMAO! ("I have an attic you can hang upside down in." "Sam, you look like you've just seen a ghost. Oh, you did." "How's Madame Ovaries?" *referring to the rats* "Just a guess... a snack?" And the quotes could go on and on and on...)

Here is how the episode goes... Lilith is coming from the office where she just told Frasier she is going to the Ecopod.

Lilith> "Well, I'm off. I don't know what the future holds. Whatever happens, I only hope I can realize my full potential... to acquire things the old Lilith never had."
Carla> "Like a body temperature?"
Lilith> "Very good, Carla. Incidentally, I have taken your little wise cracks for a quite a few years now, you hideous gargoyle. And if you ever open that gateway to hell you call a mouth again in my direction, I will snap off your extremities like dead branches and feed them to you at gun point. ::starts to walk off:: God... that felt good!"
Carla> ::just stands there stunned:: "Well, that was just plain rude."



What a priceless moment in Cheers history! Lilith had too much class over the years to actually give it to her good... give her what she deserved. I guess she figured she'd be spending the rest of her life with *Googy* and would never have to see Carla again, so she just was blowing off some steam. LMAO! Lilith has had her share of sarcastic comebacks, but that one totally tops the cake! There had been so many times where Carla would insult her and she'd just let it go... that totally made up for all those times! GO LILITH!!! LOL

Oh, Diane always knew just were to get Carla. She was the only one at that bar that could actually get to Carla... if anyone could make Carla feel the way she makes the rest of the world feel, Diane would be that person. LMAO! I adore Diane... the thing I adore most about Diane's and Lilith's come backs are that they're so clever and witty. Half the time the rest of the characters don't understand them anyhow (except Frasier... the only poor man that actually understanded what those two are saying... I'm sure there are many times when he wished he didn't... LOL!). Diane's problem was she was too long winded and no one would listen to her (a problem I can very well relate to) and Lilith's was she used words that were too long for their tiny attention spans to stay focused long enough for her to complete the entire word.

Either way, they both gave Carla hell. Well deserved torture I might add.

And Alanna... how did you end up changing your using name?!!?? With all your same settings?

I just realized "Incidentally" was spelled wrong in my quote. I had copied it from Tom's Comedy Quotes... incorrect spellings... tsk-tsk! Must go fix!
