A few months ago, former homicide detective Joe Kenda released his book I Will Find You. I got the book for Christmas and have been reading it. I'm still in the early stages of the book, but Kenda discusses cases he investigated that are considered too gruesome for television. He does, however, mention some cases that were documented on Homicide Hunter, including a robbery/attempted murder case that he successfully solved (despite the skepticism of veteran detectives), which led to his promotion to homicide detective.

Early in the book, Kenda discusses his personal life. While I'm on that subject, did you know that Joe Kenda met his wife Mary Kathleen while he was on a blind date with another girl? In the book, Kenda stated that his mother set him up on a blind date with her best friend's daughter. He basically went through the motions until his chance encounter with Kathy during that blind date. He abandoned his date to interact with Kathy, and they became high school sweethearts. They have been married since 1967 and have two children (a son and a daughter). But Kenda admitted that his mother never got over Kenda's rejection of her friend's daughter and never accepted Kathy as her daughter-in-law.

I Will Find You is worth checking out.
