Default Who here is a Christmas traditionalist?

Im probably the biggest one here...

To me a traditional christmas is one exactly like we used to have in the 80s and earlier...... BEAUTIFUL C7 COLOURED BULBS,A tree that smells piney...... Nice decorations...... Nice warm GOOD analogue christmas music,etc........

Im not really into christmas anymore because its so ugly....... Tiny white LED lights, ugly decorations...... THIS IS NOT CHRISTMAS TO ME............

Some people in my neighbourhood dont take thier stuff down until spring!! (But amazingly not too many had any decorations up this year) Our tree came down last week......

This christmas WAS A LITTLE EASIER FOR ME as I had a small TABLE TOP TREE and that one I decorated with C7 bulbs

When did you guys take your stuff down? Do ya wait until after 6 jan to do it?

I actually haven't taken my Tree down yet. I have to but I've had other things to do and plus, I'm a little lazy.

I guess I am sort of a traditionalist because I put up a nativity scene every Christmas and like older decorations. I don't like to take down decorations until the Epiphany, which is around January 6. I like Christmas music like Silent Night or even older more secular ones like Rudolph (though I love Do They Know It's Christmas by British rock stars).

I see myself as traditionalist. I like the tree and Nativity scene. Lights are okay as well.

I don't discriminate based on age but as it happens most of my favorite Christmas songs are older-skewing and more classic. There are still several new ones I like though. Mariah Carey and Kelly Clarkson have some good songs.

There is nothing more tacky (for me anyway) than those ugly icicle lights hanging on people's eaves troughs through the summer. Some people don't bother removing them after Christmas. At night those lights are pretty but not in the daytime!

I like a lot of the modern Christmas songs but I prefer the old traditional carols. For example; "O Come O Come Emanuel", As Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night"," From Heaven Above To Earth I Come" etc. are hymns that we hardly hear anymore except in church.

Am I considered a traditionalist if I still haven't taken down my Corpse-mas tree?

I'm more of a moderate...I love the big and little lights. But since it's only me at the place I'm living in...I just put-up some led plastic Christmas trees and I have a Nativity Snow Globe.

But what I'd like to do is...make my house look like this...

But...I don't wanna start any fires or break the breaker box...any good suggestions?

That looks OK I guess but I think it would look better with bigger C9 bulbs outside like many had in the 80s

I did decades of traditional christmas, and in the 80's, I broke the habit and took my daughter and we flew off to Hawaii for a sun and sand Hawaiian holiday. Never went back to the traditional .. and my daughter and her children do their best to take a holiday at a sandy beach place every christmas.

Well it’s almost always cold here in NYC in Dec. so I like the traditional ones.

But I see your point too, especially as you’re already living someplace warm.
