Is it just my imagination, or did it look like "Fish" was reading his lines off of cue cards?

There were instances when he would kind of look into the camera a la Oliver Hardy and Alan Hale Jr. Is that what you are referring to?

I know what you are referring to, but that's not what I'm talking about. Sometimes when he's talking to someone, instead of making eye contact, he looks down towards the floor.

I have not noticed. I'll have to look for it the next time I watch a Fish episode.
