In 1989 AMC "American Movie Classics" launched it's first game show called The Movie Masters that tested contestants knowledge of classic movies and the winning contestant got to play a bonus round in which he/she had to identify classic movies by listening to sound clips. It's surprising that The Movie Masters is the only game show that AMC has had in it's history and AMC should have more game shows devoted to movies because AMC needs a game show all about movies

The Movie Masters was the last game show hosted by Gene Rayburn and had a celebrity panel featuring a couple of former To Tell the Truth regulars Peggy Cass and Kitty Carlisle. Also, long-time New York Times movie critic Clive Barnes was also on the panel as they played for home viewers and tried to identify scenes from famous movies.

If AMC decides to get back into game shows, why don't they bring back The Movie Game. They can find the surviving episodes of the Sonny Fox/Larry Blyden version or mount an all-new incarnation. It would be the right fit for AMC.
