The first 6 seasons were good, but by season 7 the show was starting to suck. Roseanne became a man-hating bitch, Jackie became a nut, Becky and Mark became stupid, and Darlene went from a likeable tomboy to a sarcastic, gothic teenager. And, the show seemed to get a much darker tone. The Connors became more white trashy. In the beginning, Roseanne and Dan had a good marriage and worked together and respected each other. Roseanne was strong but not a bitch. There IS a difference between being strong and being a bitch. The first few seasons were great. And, I also didn't like how they made Roseanne's father Al an abuser. Watching the first seasons, this clearly wasn't the original intent for his character. The show sort of took a nosedive when Becky eloped with Mark, but by season 7 it was finished. Seasons 8 and 9, especially 9, sucked ass!!!

Yes, I agree. He was always getting mad and being a jerk. I especially hated the episode where he is mad at Darlene for being successful. That was SO out of character for him. He always wanted her to be successful and was always on her side. That episode totally sucked. All parents want their kids to be better than them. That was so dumb and so unlike the Dan of the early seasons.

My mom didn't like the new seasons either. I think the last good episode that she likes is when Becky eloped.

As far as me, I don't watch the later seasons either.

I felt like in season 6 everyone was just getting mad at the same people over and over again. It felt very repetitive.
