Default Dear Antenna TV: Please only show the Flos

The Belles and Jolenes can be shown on some other channel, perhaps one that shows the Shemps from The Three Stooges, and the Shelley Hacks from Charlie’s Angels.

Again: Only show the Flos!

I enjoy all the episodes. Flo is my favorite but Jolene & Belle are very underrated.

The Flo eps have all been available on DVD for years. Seasons 7-9 are the most wanted for a lot of viewers.

Everyone is entitled to their option, but they pay for the rerun rights to the COMPLETE SERIES (several runs in fact) and they will be airings the COMPLETE SERIES...

That's how TV syndication works...

...no one is forcing you to watch episodes you personally don't like.

Actually, syndicators will sometimes split up packages and only show the most popular episodes. The first three years of Make Room for Daddy have been absent from syndication for years because the later episodes, with Danny’s second wife, are more well-known. More recently, the original broadcast syndication package of “Designing Women” only included the first five years with the original cast. Later on, another package on cable included the full series.

Currently, MeTV only shows the more popular, B&W episodes of “The Andy Griffith Show”, even though they only have the rights to the whole series.

That’s how TV syndication works...

The reason the first 3 seasons of MRFD is never syndicated is because Danny Thomas never wanted those episodes to be seen again so they were never seen with the rest. Occasionally a long running series that has 300 plus episodes will only syndicate so many. Alice has never fell in that group. Most series that have 200 episodes or less syndicate them all.

See my example of “Designing Women” above, as well as “Andy Griffith” on MeTV (they show only 159 episodes of the 249 episodes of the series). It can happen.

That said, I do think Antenna will show them all. They are showing one tonight from the post-Flo era. But I think the show would play better in reruns if they only used the episodes with original cast.

I liked them all ! From start to finish!! I liked Flo, but also Jolene and even Belle was OK. But as for me, my favorite characters are Mel and Vera anyway! As a matter of fact, I think some of the later eps were the funniest! I think Mel got funnier as the series went on!

And if they only showed the Flo eps., we would never get to see Vera's adorable Hubby Elliott!

The Flo seasons are best, but really, they're only 3 2/3 seasons of a 9 season show. That's like demanding them stop airing Facts Of Life once it moves out of Eastland which was 4 seasons out of 9.

Alice does go downhill in the later seasons but it had more to do with age than anything else as the show still did well throughout the Belle seasons and into the Jolene years. After 1982-1983, it just started to lose something largely due to having run it's course, many sitcoms end up going downhill and showing their age 7-8 years into their run. But those who claim Alice wasn't still entertaining in 1980-1982 or trying to compare them to the post-Barney episodes of Andy Griffith are being too harsh.

Flo is my fave, but i want all the episodes, I feel cheated when it's incomplete. Just like I hate it when networks always skip over The Carol Burnett Show's season 11 just b/c Korman is missing.
