Default I thought speed was the Flash's only power

In the first episode of the second crossover with Supergirl and all the others, he's not only moving fast; but he's catching bullets. Is this a new power he acquired, and is it consistent with the comic books. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Black Lightning. I'm gonna have to Google that one to see what his powers are. I know he's a metahuman because I've seen little things that mention the anniversary of his introduction into the comic books even though he doesn't have a title that I know of right now.
Take care and God bless you all

He's been bullet catching since the cover of his first ever golden age appearance in 1940

That's strange because I watched the first two episodes of The Flash that was on back in the early 90's, and he only seemed to run fast and maybe heal fast. He took a good beating from the villain he faced in the pilot episode and was able to get back up shortly.
Take care and God bless

Awesome, so is he the only metahuman who has a comic book right now? I looked up his abilities, and he can manipulate and control electricity. I wish DC would do a Metahumans comic book series like Marvel has with the X-Men.
Take care and God bless

To answer Amanda, the way that Flash can catch bullets was explained in the original Comics this way. If a bullet is fired at the Flash at point-blank trajectory, then the bullet would severely injure him, if not worse. So to avoid injury, the Flash has to run parallel to the course of the bullet while at the same time matching the bullet's rate of speed gradually. At the point at which Flash's speed exactly matches the bullet's speed is when he can curve his hand around to catch it.

Even Flash's eyelids have super speed too. Once in the comics when he fought the Mirror Master, the villain used mirrors to create blinding light. The brilliant light of course blinded everybody else in the vicinity but the Flash began blinking at super speed. That way the blinding light could not register on his eyeballs while at the same time the intervals in between the blinks enabled him to see.
